Clara Ellen Kasten, 87, of Barry, IL, passed away at 12:09 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2024, in Barry Healthcare & Senior Living in Barry.
She was born September 23, 1936, in New Canton, IL, a daughter of Richard and Marian (Hathaway) Smith.
She is survived by a sister Dora (Joe) Fesler of Barry, IL, two brothers, George Smith of Barry, IL and Kenneth (Deb) Smith of Mendon, IL, a sister-in-law Joye Smith, and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Bill Smith and Leroy Smith, a sister-in-law Sandy Smith and a nephew Travis Smith.
Clara was a graduate of West Pike High School. She devoted her life to providing in home care of the elderly. She enjoyed reading.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry.
Burial will be in Morey Cemetery, New Canton, IL.
Memorials are suggested to the Barry Food Pantry or Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
