Obituary for Dorothy A. Reynolds
Dorothy A. Reynolds, 87, of Barry, Illinois, passed away at 11:10 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at the Barry Community Care Center in Barry. She was born July 20, 1927, in Pleasant Vale Township, Pike County, Illinois, to Edward & Fidella (McDonald) Sigler. She is survived by 1 daughter - Leslie Reynolds of Barry, fiance Gary Fowler of Vandalia, Mo., 1 son - Mark Reynolds, wife Debra of Barry; and 4 grandchildren. She is also survived by 1 brother - John Sigler, wife Norma of New Canton. She was preceded in death by 1 brother in infancy and her parents. Dorothy taught at West Pike High School for 33 years, teaching english and latin and was school librarian. She loved to travel, cook and garden. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Jamestown Socity, Decedents of Washington's Army at Valley Forge, the National Society of Daughters of the Union 1861-1865 and the Barry Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015, at the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015, at the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery in Barry. Memorials are suggested to the Barry Fire Department or Park Lawn Cemetery.
