Obituary for Helen Eloise Fee Hampsmire
Mrs. Helen Eloise Fee Hampsmire, 92, of Barry, Illinois, passed away at 9:35 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2014, in her home. She was born August 6, 1922, in Barry to Zane & Nina (Fitch) Fee. She married Floyd V. Hampsmire on June 7, 1940, in Palmyra, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 25, 2011. She is survived by 1 son, Gary Hampsmire of Springfield, Illinois. She is also survived by 1 brother, Richard Fee of Oswego, Illinois. In addition to her parents and her husband she was also preceded in death by 1 son, Roger Hampsmire, 3 brothers Edwin Fee, Donald Fee and William Fee and a sister Marilene Schmidt. Helen was born and raised in Barry where she spent most of her life. She had also lived in Quincy and Jacksonville. She was a housewife and had worked at Block and Kuhl in Quincy as a beautician and had operated a beauty shop in her home. For years she showed Tennessee Walking Horses with Floyd. She enjoyed her dogs, cats and horses. She also loved family gatherings. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 20, 2014, at the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery in Barry. Memorials are suggested to the Barry United Methodist Church.
