Obituary for John Thompson
Mr. John Thompson, 48, of Quincy, Illinois, passed away Monday, June 1, 2020, as the result of a motorcycle accident on Highway 79 south of Hannibal, Missouri.
He was born December 19, 1971, in Jacksonville, Illinois, to Clair & Mary (Sims) Thompson.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Madaline Thompson of Springfield, MO and Reese Thompson, of Viola, IL, his father Clair Thompson, of Hull, IL, 1 brother Robert Morriss, wife Jane, of Quincy, IL, 2 sisters, Deneta Smashey Sneed, of Raytown, MO, and Diane Whitley, (Matthew Bowie), of Hannibal, MO, best friend Janet Martenson, of Belvidere, IL, the mother of his children Paula Mudd, of Viola, IL, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, 1 brother, Darrell Morriss and his beloved dog Tubz.
John was a Master Mason, an Ansar Shriner, and a member of the Skeeter Patrol. John was a motorcycle enthusiast and leaves behind many fellow brothers and sisters. John was just known as a big hearted, kind and friendly guy.
There is no visitation.
Private Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m Saturday, June 6, 2020, at Mound Prairie Cemetery, Beverly, Illinois,Adams county.
Burial will be in Mound Prairie Cemetery, Beverly, Illinois, Adams county.
Memorials are suggested to Ansar Shriners Lodge.
Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry is in charge or arrangements.
