Obituary for Lawrence C. Alexander
Mr. Lawrence C. Alexander, 93, of Barry, Illinois, passed away at 1:21 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017, at the Barry Community Care Center in Barry.
He was born January 21, 1924, in Quincy, Illinois, to Carl E. & Mary Ann (Fleming) Alexander. They preceded him in death.
He married Clara M. Baughman on January 27, 1958. She survives in Barry.
In addition to his wife he is survived by 1 son Larry J. Alexander, wife Linda R., of Byrnes Mill, Mo.; 1 daughter Linda M. Drion, husband Joseph Steven, of St. Louis, Mo.; 2 grandsons - Bill Adrian of Quincy, Ill. and Josh Drion of St. Louis, Mo.; 2 granddaughters - Michelle Wardlow of Macomb, Ill. and Elizabeth Drion of St. Louis, Mo.; and 1 great grandson Seth Koontz of Quincy, Ill.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Karen Sue Williams and a son-in-law Loren E. (Bud) Williams.
Lawrence farmed in the Barry Area until his health forced him to retire. He was a member of the Barry First Baptist Church. He was a farm tractor enthusiast, an animal lover and he enjoyed his western movies. He loved being outside and watching nature.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Park Lawn Cemetery in Barry.
Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery in Barry.
Memorials are suggested to the Barry First Baptist Church.
