Obituary for Matthew Scott "Matt" Lumley
Mr. Matthew Scott "Matt" Lumley, 47, of Barry, Illinois, passed away at 6:15 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2020, at his home.
He was born December 13, 1972, in Pittsfield, Illinois, to Norvin L. "Butch" & Janette (Payne) Lumley.
He is survived by 2 sons, Justin Simpson of Springfield, IL and Chace Lumley of Lincoln, IL, 1 daughter Olivia Moyer of Barry, IL, his mother Janette Brown, husband Kent, of Pittsfield, IL, his father Butch Lumley, wife Anne, of Lake Havasu, AZ, 1 brother Mark Lumley, wife Jacque, of Rural Barry, IL, 1 sister Misha Wassel, husband TJ, of Pittsfield, IL, his maternal Grandmother Lois Payne of Pittsfield, IL, and several aunts, uncles & cousins.
Matt served in the Marine Corp and served in Bosnia as a military mechanic. After the Marines Matt worked as a mechanic. He loved motorcycles and anything with a motor on it. He spent the last 18 years at Lumley Trucking. Matt had a kind heart. He was always for the underdog and was well known as the life of the party.
There is no visitation.
Private Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2020, at Burbridge Cemetery south of Pittsfield.
Burial will be at Burbridge Cemetery, South of Pittsfield.
Memorials are suggested to the Family and can be sent to Kirgan Funeral Home.
Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry is in charge of arrangements.
