Obituary for Mrs. Alma P. Meyer
Mrs. Alma P. Meyer 91 of Hull, IL. passed away Tuesday Sept. 25th at 12:05 p.m. in the Barry Community Care Center. She was born July 24, 1921 in RockPort IL. a duaghter to Thomas Emmett and Grace ( Rogers ) Pryor. On April 19th 1942 she married Paul E. Meyer in Pittsfield, IL. He preceded her in death December 5th 1996. Alma is survived by two sons 1) Thomas Meyer of Hull, IL. and 2) Timothy L. Meyer of Barry, IL. She was blessed with a grandson Jeffrey Meyer of East Alton, IL. a granddaughter Lindsay Maas and her husband John of Hull, IL. and a great grandson Hudson Maas also of Hull. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition her her husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother Charles Pryor and a daughter in law Patricia Meyer. During World War II Alma worked as a riveter on the tail sections of B-17 aircraft while her husband served in the Army Air Corp. After the War she helped her husband with the farm and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was a member of the Hull United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and enjoyed Church Bazarrs where she always worked in the candy room. Alma was a very proud grandmother and great grandmother. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sat. Sept. 29th in the Kirgan Funeral Home, Barry. Burial will be in Kinderhook Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home Friday Sept. 28th from 5-7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Kinderhook Cemetery or the Hull United Methodist Church.
