Obituary for Mrs. Lyn Rae Vollmer
Mrs. Lyn Rae Vollmer 65 of New Canton, IL. formerly of EL Dara, IL. passed away Monday November 11th 2013 at 1:22 a.m. in the Emergency Room of Hannibal Regional Hospital. She was born October 14th 1948 in Pittsfield, IL. a daughter of Truman and Mildred (Wheeler) Scranton. She married Frank Vollmer in Clarksville, Mo. on March 3rd 1966. He survives in New Canton, IL. She is also survived by a son Frank Vollmer Jr. of Silverdale, Wa. two daughters Kathy Lear and husband John of EL Dara, IL. and Laura Brockes of Quincy, IL. She was blessed with five grandsons. Aaron Crossman of New Canton, Klayton Miller of EL Dara,Robert Stanley of Silverdale, Wa. Taylor Lear of Liberty, and Cody Lear of Mendon. Nine granddaughters Lindsay Crossman of Plainville, Casey Wasenbach of Camp Point, Ashley Crossman of Atlas, Katie Kendall of Camp Point, Makia Raboin, Tessa Vollmer, Wesley Vollmer and Frankie Vollmer all of Silverdale, Wa. and Kobie Miller of EL Dara in addition she is survived by fifteen great grandchildren as well as a twin brother Glyn, brothers Cecil and Gordon as well as sisters Audrey, Janet, Dorothy, and Mary Ann. Lyn was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Rex, Smitty, Larry, and sisters Paula, Shirley and Loletta. Lyn loved spending time on her computer, baking in the kitchen and going to play BINGO, but her favorite activity was spending time with her grandbabies. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wed. in the Funeral Home. Funeral Services wil be at 10:00 a.m. Thurs. in the Funeral Home with burial in Taylor- Martin cemetery, EL Dara, IL. Memorials are suggested to Lyns family.
