Obituary for Norma J. Larimore
Mrs. Norma J. Larimore, 77, of 2129 Sunny Lane, Quincy, Illinois, passed away at 9:08 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Good Samaritan Home in Quincy. She was born December 12, 1937, in Quincy, a daughter of the late Charles G. Moon, who was killed in World War II, and Evelyn Montag Moon, who later married J. Albert VanZandt. Norma and her siblings were then adopted by J. Albert VanZandt. Norma married Dale F. Larimore at the Plainville Methodist Church in Plainville on December 26, 1958. He passed away on November 20, 1977. She is survived by 1 daughter, Monica (Ronald) Heard of Jacksonville, Illinois; 2 sons, Douglas (Linda) Larimore of O'Fallon, Missouri and Brian Larimore of Kailua Kona, Hawaii; and 6 grandchildren, Daniel Heard, Chloe Heard, Evan McCurdy, Jameson McCurdy, Griffin McCurdy, and Darren Larimore. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Linda VanZandt of Hannibal, Missouri and Vicki Stice of Quincy; 2 sisters-in-law, Sandy VanZandt of Camp Point and Georgia VanZandt of Liberty; numerous nieces and nephews; and a friend who was like a sister, Carol Hall. She was preceded in death by her biological father; her adoptive father; her stepfather, Leon Mann; her mother; her husband Dale F. Larimore; 2 brothers Roland VanZandt and James VanZandt; a nephew Jay VanZandt; and a niece Lesa Richmiller. Mrs. Larimore professed faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior. She volunteered at Melrose Chapel United Methodist Church and Quincy Hospitality House. Norma was an avid Cardinals fan and enjoyed spending time with family and close friends. She was fond of dogs and cats. She performed clerical work, was a nurse assistant and did cafeteria work. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015, at Quincy Memorial Park in Quincy. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park, Quincy, Illinois. There is no visitation. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Quincy Hospitality House or PAW PALS. Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry in charge of arrangements.
