Obituary for Pamela (Pam) Dianne Garner
Pamela (Pam) Dianne Garner, 65, of LaGrange, Missouri, passed away at 5:48 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2014, in Blessing Hospital in Quincy. She was born August 24, 1949, in Quincy, Illinois, to Milton & Marie (Blacketter) Garner. Marie survives in Staunton, Illinois. She was formerly married to Gary L. Butler on December 22, 1967, in the Nazarene Church in Barry, Illinois. They were married for 12 years and had 2 daughters. Gary survives in Pittsfield, Illinois. She is survived by her 2 daughters - Angela Hull (husband Jeff) of Worden, Illinois and Crystal Lewis (husband Ken) of Mt. Sterling, Illinois. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren - Clint & Carter Lewis and Nathaniel & Mara Hull; her mother Marie Garner of Staunton, Illinois and a brother, Milton (Cork) Garner (wife Mary) of Monticello, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her father Milton Garner. Pam graduated in 1967 from Barry High School. She graduated from Medical Assistant School in Milwalkee, Wisconsin and from Quincy Beauty School. She held a variety of jobs, but her most rewarding ones were being owner-operator of her hair salon, a medical assistant and a home health aid. She enjoyed watching the river boats going down the river, walking her dog, reading and living a simple life. She loved being outside. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at Samuel Taylor Cemetery in Rockport, Illinois. Burial will be in Samuel Taylor Cemetery, Rockport, Illinois. Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry in charge of arrangements.
