Obituary for Pat
Mrs. Patricia Rose Robinson, 97, of Barry, IL, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024, in Blessing Hospital, Quincy, IL.
She was born July 2, 1927, in Richfield Township, Adams County, IL, to Josiah David & Ida Lorena (Hendricks) Kline.
She married Joseph “Joe” L. Robinson on July 3, 1948, in Pittsfield, IL. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2017.
She is survived by 3 sons, Mike Robinson & wife Lisa, of Wentzville, MO, Mark Robinson & wife Angie, of Leaf River, IL, and Matt Robinson & wife Caitlin, of Chicago, IL, 2 daughters, Kelly Rupple & husband Tim, of Louisville, KY, and Patty Johnson & husband Raymond, of Louisville, KY, 5 grandsons, Joseph Robinson, of Washington D.C., Dylan Robinson, of Washington D.C., Jacob Dietrich, of Springfield, IL, David Rupple, of Louisville, KY, Jason Glanz, of Chicago, IL, 5 granddaughters, Rebecca Robinson Borowski, of Bellingham, WA, Anna Rupple Noland, of Louisville, KY, Audrey Rupple, of Louisville, KY, Jessi Dietrich Benson, of Eugene, OR, and Frances Robinson, of Chicago, IL, and 4 great grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe, 2 brothers, J. D. Kline and Forest Ray Kline, and 1 sister Marjorie Watts.
Pat had been a school teacher in a one room school house and she was the last living one room school house teacher in Adams County. She and her husband were one of the founding couples of the former Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Barry. She had worked at the Brown Shoe Factory in Pittsfield with Joe until they started a family. After the children were raised she went to work at Lohnes Veterinary Clinic in Barry. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, listening to country music and square dancing with Joe.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 8, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pittsfield.
Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery in Barry.
Memorials are suggested to the Teresa Adams House of Quincy or the Illinois Veterans Home.
