Obituary for Ruth l. Bubb
Mrs. Ruth Lucille Bubb, 93 of New Canton, passed away at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012, in the Barry Community Care Center in Barry. She was born October 16, 1918, in New Canton, a daughter of John & Pearl (Davis) Stottlemeyer. They preceded her in death. She married Paul Erwin Bubb on June 21, 1939, in Bowling Green, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1980. She is survived by 2 daughters, Reva Sue (Herbert) Koenig of St. Charles, Missouri and Connie (Don) Fidler of Bonsall, California; 1 grandson, Kristopher (Michelle) Koenig of Springfield, Missouri; a granddaughter, Michele (Robert) Bogan of Las Vegas, Nevada; 3 great grandchildren, Kameron and Taylor Koenig of Springfield, Missouri and Jackson Bogan of Las Vegas, Nevada; and 1 sister, Wilma Fisher of New Canton. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Mrs. Bubb attended grade & high schools in New Canton and graduated from the Quincy Beauty College. She was a beautician in Baylis and after moving to Griggsville she owned and operated "Ruth's Beauty Salon" and later had her shop in her home. She worked as a beautician for approximately 30 years. After moving to Jacksonville, she worked as a housemother at the Illinois School for the Deaf for approximately 12 years where she learned to use sign language. She was a member of the Barry United Methodist Church. As per her wishes, there are no public services. Private graveside services will be held at the Griggsville City Cemetery in Griggsville. Memorials are suggested to the Griggsville City Cemetery.
