Obituary for Stella H. Hoskins
Mrs. Stella H. Hoskins, 95, of Barry, Illinois, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, February 20, 2014, in her home. She was born September 9, 1918, in Ilasco, Missouri, to Anthony & Catherine (Koscis) Wojcik. They preceded her in death. She married Don A. Hoskins on May 26, 1937, in Pittsfield, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 8, 1996. She is survived by 2 daughters - Rozilla Stice of Barry and Marion Hoskins of Barry, a daughter-in-law, Pat Hoskins Patterson of Barry, 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by 1 brother, Steve Wojcik of Hannibal, Missouri and 1 sister, Helen Fitzgerald of Monroe City, Missouri. She was preceded by 1 son, Charles A. Hoskins, 3 brothers, John, Joe & Walter and 3 sisters, Mary, Sophie and an infant sister. Stella ws an active member of the Holy Redeemer Church in Barry. She worked in the Barry school kitchen for 34 years. In her spare time she enjoyed working puzzles and reading. She also loved cleaning house and going to yard sales. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pittsfield, Illinois. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Barry, Illinois. Memorials are suggested to the Barry Public Library.
