Obituary for Merle E. Brown
Mr. Merle E. Brown, 89, of Barry, Illinois, formerly of Beverly, Illinois, passed away Friday night, December 14, 2018, at the Barry Community Care Center in Barry.
Merle was born January 22, 1929, a son of the late Willis E. and Lena (Quincy) Brown.
He was married to (date unknown) Betty (Sparks) Brown. She preceded him in death on April 23, 1997.
He is survived by his daughter Ruthie Mae (Brown) (Alan) Meador of Clayton, Illinois, four grandchildren, Betty Jo (Kevin) Robbins, Crystal (Josh) Besser, Alan Ray (Denise) Meador & Kelly Meador, six great grandchildren, one brother Burle E. (Beverly) Brown, of Loraine, Illinois, one sister Darlene E. (Brown) Bose of Missouri, and several nieces & nephews.
Merle was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, James E. Brown, Donald E. Brown and Charles E. Brown.
He was employed by Gardner Denver in Quincy, Illinois, and was also a Deputy Sheriff in Cleveland, TX. In later years he did timber work and also mowed lawns. He enjoyed visiting relatives and friends and also playing his guitar and singing.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Kingston Cemetery in Kingston, Illinois.
There is no visitation.
Burial will be in Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, Illinois.
