Obituary for Charles Bruce Kendall
Mr. Charles Bruce Kendall, 77, of Barry, IL, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
He was born March 14,1947, in Pittsfield, IL, to Earl L. “Chick” & Betty Lou (Dolbeare) Kendall.
He married Jean Cellucci on August 22, 1997, in Barry, IL. She survives in Barry.
In addition to his wife Jean he is also survived by 2 sons, Robert Kendall, wife Dawn, of Albers, IL, and Charles Kendall, wife Carrie, of Muskegon, MI, 3 daughters, Dayna Sterr, husband Scott, of Plainfield, IL, Christina Rios, of Joliet, IL, and Michelle McCoy, husband Chris, of Chicago, IL, 3 step-sons, Mark Lindsey, wife Amber, of Pittsfield, IL, Matt Lindsey, wife Courtney, of Barry, IL, and Michael Lindsey & special friend Stevie, of Cooksville, IL, 23 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother Larry Kendall.
Bruce loved antique car cruises. He was chairman of St. Jude's Bikeathon in Barry and a 2 term member of Ward B City Council in Barry. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, fast cars and doing burn outs. He loved his grandchildren and his dogs.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry.
Burial will be in Taylor-Martin Cemetery, El Dara, Illinois.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Pike County Animal Shelter.
