Obituary for Cheryl Scranton
Mrs. Cheryl Scranton, 73, of El Dara, IL, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
She was born September 11, 1948, in Hannibal, MO, to Ernest & Glorine (Badgley) Howell.
She married Cecil Scranton on May 14, 1966, in Barry, IL. He survives in El Dara. Together they raised 4 children, Wayne (Paula) Scranton, Oleta (Jered) Birkbeck, Cecily Scranton and Tiffany Scranton.
She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, her mother Glorine Phebus, 2 sisters, Shelia and Charlotte, 1 brother Mike and several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 2 sisters and her Dad.
Cheryl was such a lucky woman and she would tell you that. She was married to the love of her life for 55 years. She got to raise all of her kids and watch them start their lives and have families of their own. Cheryl loved her life and it loved her.
Cheryl has owned the Barry Cafe for 14 years. Cecil & Cheryl have also owned Scranton Timber Company for 34 years.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry.
Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery in Barry.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
