Obituary for Dan Kendrick
Mr. Dan Kendrick, 69, of New Canton, IL, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022, in his home.
He was born October 28, 1952, in Quantico, Virginia, to William Merritt “Bill” Kendrick & Doris (Grady) Kendrick. His mother survives in New Canton, IL
He married Kathy Wilson on June 14, 1980, in Hannibal, MO. She died June 1, 2013. They were married for 32 years.
In addition to his mother Doris, he is also survived by 2 sons, Scott Kendrick, wife Jesica, of New Canton, IL, and Lance Kendrick, wife Michelle, of Barry, IL, 6 grandsons, Mathew, Ayden, Jacob, Emmett, Ian, and Everett Kendrick, and 1 granddaughter Ellie Kendrick, 1 brother, Matthew Kendrick of New Canton, IL, 1 sister Colleen Curtis, husband Jim, of Jacksonville, NC, and numerous nieces & nephews.
Dan was a U.S. Marine, past President of Pike County Farm Bureau, a Mason, a Shriner, current President of the New Canton Cemetery Association, and a member of the New Canton United Methodist Church. He was a well-known New Canton farmer.
In his leisure time he enjoyed boating, spending time at the river and meeting with friends at the Copper Head. But his favorite activity was spending time with and spoiling his grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2022, at the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry, with Masonic Rites at 6:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2022, at the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry.
Burial will be in Shearer Cemetery in New Canton, IL.
Memorials are suggested to Western CUSD 12 Athletic Department.
