Mrs. Doris Marie Thompson, 93, of rural Liberty, passed away at 8:45 p.m. July 14, 2016, in her home.
She was born June 15, 1923, in Adrian, Illinois, to Ernie & Ester (Lyon) Harris. They preceded her in death.
She married Leo R. Thompson on October 26, 1941, in Adrian, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2002.
She is survived by 1 son Clair Thompson of Hull, Illinois; 3 daughters - Connie Huston of Warsaw, Illinois; Marjorie Robinson & husband Bill of Liberty and Sharon Hubbard & husband Howard of Hull, Illinois; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and 1 sister Lois Little of Carthage, Illinois.
In addition to her parents and her husband she is also preceded by 3 sisters, Agnes Twitchell, Eunice Thompson and Helen Harris, a brother in infancy and 3 grandchildren.
Doris was a farm wife and belonged to the Beverly Methodist Church where she enjoyed assisting with dinners. She also enjoyed her garden and loved to give away what she grew. She liked making apple pies and weaving rugs. And if you visited her she expected you to eat something.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry.
Burial will be in Mound Prairie Cemetery in Beverly.
