Obituary for Douglas John Davis
Mr. Douglas John Davis, 69, of Pittsfield, Illinois, passed away at 6:10 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa.

He was born November 2, 1946, in Lansing, Michigan to Harry J. & Margarette L. (Westfall) Davis. They preceded him in death.

He married Linda J. Moucha on June 16, 2007, in Janesville, Wisconsin. She survives in Pittsfield, Illinois.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, Brian Davis, wife Jessie, of Rochester, Minnesota; Scott Davis of Pittsfield, Illinois; and Jeff Davis of Rochester, Minnesota; 1 daughter Crystal Davis of Belvedere, Illinois; 1 grandson Joel Davis and 1 granddaughter Abigail Davis of Rochester, Minnesota.

Also surviving are 2 brothers, William "Bill" Davis, wife Tammy, of Lansing, Michigan; and Carl Davis of Lansing, Michigan; and 2 sisters, Michele "Schel" Davis of Olney, Illinois; and Karen Thomas, husband Santiago, of Lansing, Michigan.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 1 daugher Stephanie Davis, 1 grandson Liam Davis and 1 sister Mary Ann in infancy.

Doug was a graduate of Waverly High School in Lansing, Michigan, a graduate of Michigan State University and was a member of the Army Special Forces serving in Vietnam. After the Army he drove a truck.

He was a member of the Pittsfield United Methodist Church. He enjoyed caring for rescued cats, music and spending time in his library at home. He will be greatly missed by friends and family.

A memorial service for friends and family will be held at a later date in Doug & Linda's home.

He will be laid to rest in Deep Dale Cemetery, Lansing, Michigan.
