Ms. Nellie L. Martin, 91, of Quincy, IL, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Good Samaritan Home in Quincy, IL.
She was born December 11, 1933, in Griggsville, IL, to Arthur L. & Mary C. (Dehart) Martin.
She is survived by numerous nieces & nephews, 1 brother, Robert G. Martin (wife Mary Jo), of Peoria, IL, and 2 sisters, Mary Lou Venvertloh, of Quincy, IL, and Edna (Sally) Gusewelle, of Highland, IL, and a sister-in-law Betty Martin.
She was preceded by her parents, 3 brothers, Arthur, Jr., Dale & Walter, and 2 sisters, Thelma Martin and Margaret Handrich.
Nellie was a 1951 graduate of Seymour High School. She had worked for Irwin Paper Co. retiring in 1991. Following her retirement she helped take care of her Mother until she passed away in 2009. Nellie enjoyed china painting, cross stitch needlework and quilting.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry.
Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery in Barry.
Memorials are suggested to the Good Samaritan Home Activity Fund.
