Obituary for Norma M. Hart
Norma M. Hart, 82, of Barry Community Care Center, formerly of New Canton, Illinois, passed away at 6:00 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2012, in Illini Community Hospital, Pittsfield, Illinois. She was born August 13, 1929, in Rockport, Illinois, to Morris D. & Mary Elizabeth (Mooney) Day. They preceded her in death. She is survived by 2 sons - Stuart Hart & wife Vicky of Kinderhook, Illinois and DeWayne Hart & wife Cynthia of Robertsville, Missouri; 5 daughters - Ramona Schmidt & husband Ken of St. Louis, Missouri; Sheila Zundel & husband Leeland of Cambridge, Idaho; Althea Hart of New Canton, Illinois; Janeen Little of Atlas, Illinois; and Anita Phillips & husband Mark of Barry, Illinois; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 1 brother, Donald Day of New Canton, Illinois; 2 sisters - Dot McCoy & husband Lamar of Nashville, Tennessee; and Carmen Kolker & husband Stan of Tuscon, Arizona; and 2 nephews & 1 niece. Norma was a member of the New Canton United Methodist Church where she was Sunday School Superintendent. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and gardening. She was fond of collecting angels. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012, in the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012, at the New Canton United Methodist Church in New Canton. Burial will be in Mooney-Marion Cemetery in Atlas, Illinois. Memorials are suggested to the New Canton United Methodist Church. On line condolences may be sent to KirganFH.com.
